Independence for Madeira now! |
About Us Madeira had been know long time ago by the phoenicians, cartagians, arabs and berberes peoples. And since those times has been inhabited during some periods of time. Madeira has been a colony of Portugal since 1425, as a result of the official discovery of our isles by the portuguese in 1418. As part of the portuguese colonization Portugal invaded Madeira with thousands of immigrants during centuries. Some were portuguese, other were flemish, other francos, and others from Africa. Now, the Madeirese people, or the Madeirenses are still struggling to attain sovereignty and independence.
The Independentist Party of Madeira (PIMA)
was founded in 2009 with the purpose of seeking and obtaining independence
by every pacific mean available. The PIMA is committed to achieving
Madeira's national freedom and laying the foundation for a sound, responsible
transition from our present day colonial government to full-flegged
independence.
